A donor takes action in her community by supporting a cause close to her heart.

The Girasole Fund was created from the donor’s desire to make a meaningful impact in the community where she was born and raised, focusing on a cause deeply important to her: combating violence against women.

The fund supports two major long-term projects: one aimed at prevention through educational programs in schools of all levels, teaching children and teenagers about emotional awareness and non-violence, and another focused on protecting and reintegrating women who are leaving situations of violence.

"La scuola fa la differenza!" (translated as "School Makes a Difference!") is a project by Cooperativa Lotta contro l’Emarginazione designed to prevent gender-based violence and dominance behaviors by dismantling the stereotypes that fuel them.

Using various approaches and methods, the initiative engages schools at different levels, from nurseries to high schools, involving children, teenagers, parents, teachers, and local institutions. Currently, the project reaches more than 300 students and 100 adults. Given its success, the donor has decided to expand the initiative regionally, with the long-term goal of scaling it to a national level.

Additionally, the Girasole Fund supports the "D.E.A.: Donne, Empowerment, Accoglienza" (Women, Empowerment, and Welcoming) project by the Felicita Morandi Foundation, which helps women transition to independence after escaping violence. The goal is to establish a replicable intervention model.

Each beneficiary follows a personalized support program designed to facilitate employment and housing stability, with financial aid available when necessary. The ultimate aim is to empower women, enabling them to regain control of their lives and shape their own paths to independence.

A story of giving back to the community from an Italian-American donor.

The WE Dream Fund aims to support young, motivated women from Calabria in accessing some of the best universities in Italy through scholarships. This initiative is a true example of giving back: it was established by Emilia Fazzalari, an Italian-American entrepreneur of Calabrian descent, and her husband Wycliffe Grousbeck, driven by their strong belief that education is the key to a future full of opportunities. The fund is committed to providing young women from Calabria facing financial hardship with a real chance to achieve their dreams.

With a budget exceeding one million euros, the program aims to award 16 scholarships for studies at Bocconi University and Luiss University over the 2024-2027 academic years. The goal is to enable young women to continue their education so that their talent and potential are not hindered by financial difficulties.
The scholarships cover tuition fees and, depending on financial need, may also include full or partial accommodation costs for the entire three-year degree program.

The WE Dream Fund seeks to create a community of young women who support each other throughout their studies and, later, in their careers and personal journeys.

Additionally, WE Dream has launched an awareness campaign in high schools across Calabria to inspire young students with confidence and ambition. The initiative encourages them to aspire to Italy’s top universities and shows them that “There is a way” to turn their dreams into reality.

A family-driven philanthropic initiative honoring the renowned tax expert from Trentino.

The Bruno Frizzera Philanthropic Fund was established to drive concrete actions in three key areas: education, knowledge dissemination, and social solidarity.
Launched in 2024, the Fund supports initiatives such as scholarships, academic research grants, financial education projects (with a special focus on women), and the construction of a Community Center in Nepal.
These initiatives are carried out in collaboration with Sole 24 Ore Formazione, the University of Trento, FEduF (Financial Education and Savings Foundation), and Fondazione Caritro.


For the 2024-2025 academic year, the Bruno Frizzera Philanthropic Fund has awarded two scholarships for the Sole 24 Ore - STS Deloitte Master’s in Taxation, a prestigious program in fiscal and tax consultancy, granting two talented young women access to this top-tier training.
Additionally, in 2026, the Fund will finance a PhD scholarship in Economics at the University of Trento’s Department of Economics and Management.
The Fund also supports Sei di più, a FEduF project launched as a pilot program in Trento. It targets girls, women, and female professionals, offering financial education pathways both for those in vulnerable conditions and for those who are not disadvantaged but seek empowerment.
The initiative—developed in collaboration with Fondazione Caritro, the University of Trento, and local institutions—includes tailored programs for schools, women’s groups, and professionals working in shelters, mother-child communities, migrant support centers, and anti-violence centers. It also features awareness campaigns, educational content, and public engagement events, reaching over 1,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries over two years.
On an international level, the Fund is contributing to the construction of a Community Relief and Resource Center in Nepal, supporting the region’s most vulnerable populations.
This facility will serve as a community hub, providing shelter during natural disasters, protection for abandoned children, assistance for women in crisis, and training programs with psychological support.
The project is led by Children of the Sea OdV, a nonprofit organization active in Nepal for over a decade, in collaboration with local partners and the Nepalese government.

Born in 1917 in Vorarlberg, Bruno Frizzera spent his entire life in Trento, where he left an indelible mark in the field of taxation and economics until his passing in 2012.
A pioneering tax expert and educator, he shaped Italian professional publishing with his “Guida Pratica Fiscale”, later developed into the “Frizzera System” by Il Sole 24 Ore, becoming a reference for generations of professionals.
Frizzera led a remarkable life: he was a consultant to Minister Vanoni, contributing to Italy’s first income tax return models; he worked at Olivetti in Ivrea, helping develop some of the earliest machines capable of managing double-entry bookkeeping.
A passionate mathematician, he won first prize at the Brussels Inventors’ Fair with his innovative "commercial slide rule", designed for rapid calculations.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bruno Frizzera was a devoted family man, a classical music enthusiast, and a lover of Bondone, the mountain of Trento. He was remembered for his old-world courtesy, extraordinary perseverance, and modern vision.
With this fund, his family honors his memory and lifelong teachings, ensuring that his legacy of education, innovation, and generosity continues to inspire future generations.

A benefactor supports a public facility as a tribute to a loved one.

The Luciana Fund is an initiative established by a benefactor to contribute to the development of public healthcare in his local area and is dedicated to a loved one. The donor’s decision was driven by an awareness of the fundamental role that healthcare facilities play in a community’s ecosystem of services, serving as a vital point of reference in the region. After an initial and significant phase of support for the Umberto I Hospital in Lugo, in the province of Ravenna, the Luciana Fund will expand its scope. While maintaining its commitment to investing in the same area, it will also operate in the fields of social welfare, healthcare assistance, and education.


To date, the Luciana Fund has supported concrete initiatives to bring immediate improvements to the Umberto I Hospital in Lugo (RA), aiming to ensure continuity and quality of care while enhancing access to medical services. This healthcare facility is a positive example of a district hospital—close and accessible to the population—operating within a territorial network and effectively addressing needs through a patient-centered care model.

With a view to continuous development, the commitment to the Umberto I Hospital in Lugo is long-term, and funding is directed towards strengthening the surgical department to improve the quality of local healthcare and respond promptly to urgent medical needs. To date, the Fund has supported the technical renewal of the hospital’s surgical unit by financing the purchase of four operating tables, a surgical light, and related accessories. It has also committed to funding the renewal of the MRI equipment and the acquisition of state-of-the-art medical devices to further enhance the quality of services provided.

A collaborative philanthropy initiative: women helping other women.

The Women for Women Fund was created to support disadvantaged women in regaining their independence by providing protection, assistance, and pathways to enter or re-enter society and the workforce after experiencing physical, psychological, or economic violence. Since its inception, the Fund has reached approximately 200 women in need and aims to double this number by 2027 through ongoing projects.
The Women for Women Fund is a concrete example of collaborative philanthropy, uniting the efforts of multiple donors to create a more impactful philanthropic initiative. Founded in 2022 by a group of women, the Fund has grown and continues to expand thanks to the support of those who believe in change and have chosen to be part of this initiative.

- Spazio Donna WeWorld in Brescia: WeWorld’s Spazio Donna centers provide welcoming and supportive spaces where women facing violence, social isolation, or marginalization can receive specialized assistance.

- D.O.T.S. (Donne, Orientamento, Training, Skills) by Fondazione Adecco: A training and job placement program designed to support women in difficult situations. The initiative aims to combat gender-based violence by improving women’s employability and financial independence while raising awareness among companies about gender equality. The project launched its second edition in 2024 (D.O.T.S. 2.0) and will involve at least 40 unemployed women survivors of violence in the Milan metropolitan area by 2026.

- "Una borsa firmata lavoro" by Associazione Thamaia: This program provides direct assistance to women survivors of violence by offering work placement grants and strengthening the overall stability and responsiveness of Thamaia’s Anti-Violence Center. Thamaia operates the only accredited Anti-Violence Center (CAV) in the province of Catania, covering 58 municipalities. According to the Italian parliamentary commission on femicide, CAVs offer "the most structured and coordinated response to gender-based violence." Despite their critical role, they remain chronically underfunded and rely heavily on volunteer work.

In Italy, gender-based violence remains a persistent and alarming issue. In 2024, the national anti-violence and anti-stalking helpline (1522) recorded a significant increase in valid calls compared to the previous year, with a 37.3% rise in the third quarter and a continuously growing trend throughout the year.
Reports from D.i.R.E. (Annual Report 2024) and ISTAT ("1522 Public Utility Number: Q3 2024 Data") reveal distressing statistics on the duration of abuse: over 52% of victims report experiencing violence for years, with severe emotional consequences such as anxiety and fear. Despite this, gender-based violence remains largely underreported, as 73% of victims do not come forward due to fear of retaliation.
Violence against women takes multiple, often interconnected forms. Psychological violence is the most common, affecting the vast majority of victims, followed by physical violence.

At least 1 in 3 women experiences economic violence, living in circumstances that prevent them from achieving independence through education and employment. The inability to gain financial autonomy, combined with an abuser’s control over every aspect of life—including finances—often forces women into economic dependence, keeping them trapped in abusive and violent situations.

A story of love, in support of beloved animals.

The Dr. Fulvia Anelli Fund – A Paw for All was established by her family not only to honor a passionate doctor and a beloved daughter and sister but also to systematically continue the philanthropic work she cultivated during her lifetime.

The primary goal of the Fund is to provide veterinary care for animals still seeking a family and to support medical expenses for the pets of individuals with limited financial means.
Grants are awarded based on reports from a network of selected veterinarians across the country and applications received from shelters housing these animals.

Additionally, the Fund partners with other nonprofit organizations on projects for the sterilization of stray animals and screening for diseases that may hinder future adoption (for example, a dog testing positive for Leishmaniasis may not have contracted the disease, but an expensive test is required to confirm this).

Since its inception, the Fund has collaborated with Save the Dogs, financing initiatives such as:

"Amici di Strada, Compagni di Vita": A mobile outreach unit that provides basic necessities and free veterinary care to the dogs of Milan’s homeless population.

"AccogliAMO - Foster Families for Pets of People in Need": A temporary foster care service for the pets of individuals in disadvantaged situations, especially the homeless or low-income individuals. The goal of this project is to protect the valuable human-animal bond while ensuring the animal receives the necessary care and affection for its well-being.

The Common Goal Fund was created to promote development in disadvantaged countries through sports-related intervention programs.

Established in 2019 at the Belgian partner of the TGE network (King Baudouin Foundation), the Common Goal Fund aims to foster development in disadvantaged countries through sports programs, particularly football, with the goal of using education and youth leadership as a lever to eradicate violence, racism, and discrimination in all its forms. The project has focused on training young leaders in disadvantaged communities across various countries such as Argentina, Colombia, Germany, India, Pakistan, Israel, and Rwanda, and has directly involved sports champions like Giorgio Chiellini and Paulo Dybala, who have donated part of their salaries to support the project.

Tumaini Trust Kenya was founded in 2014 to offer access to education and training for academically deserving students from disadvantaged economic backgrounds. The fund provides scholarships to the best secondary schools and public universities in Kenya, with the goal of helping students in their academic and professional journey and allowing more of them to access such institutions despite their parents’ or guardians’ inability to pay tuition fees.

The fund was established by Talitha Puri Negri, who began volunteering at Grapesyard School in Korogocho, one of the 36 slums in Nairobi, in 2009. The Korogocho slum, with a population of 180,000 people, is the third-largest slum in the city’s surrounding informal settlements. Since 2015, Talitha has lived permanently in Kenya to personally manage the fund.

In its 9 years of operation, Tumaini Trust Kenya has supported education at the community level, providing over 180 scholarships, tutoring for students, career counseling, facilitating internships for scholarship recipients, and organizing cultural events and environmental awareness activities for the community. The Trust has created a partnership network in Korogocho involving the local administration, schools, and the parents of the students.

When the Chordoma Foundation was established in 2007 in the United States, there was virtually no research being conducted on chordoma, and there were no infrastructures to make it possible. Since then, thanks to the extraordinary commitment of everyone affected by this disease, a vibrant scientific research community has been formed, resources have been gathered to conduct meaningful research, and clinical studies have advanced to 11 therapies.

At the beginning of 2022, the Chordoma Foundation opened a laboratory, which quickly became a powerful tool for progress. The Chordoma Foundation Labs are making it easier and more efficient to test new therapeutic ideas from around the world, leading to rapid expansion of clinical studies on chordoma.

For the first time, there is a path to much better treatments for patients with chordoma, treatments that do not just slow the disease but have a real chance of allowing patients to live a full life. To achieve this ambitious goal at a pace that is meaningful for patients facing this disease today, the Chordoma Foundation is advancing a comprehensive research path through multiple complementary initiatives that cover every stage of treatment development.

The Bogliasco Center offers an intimate and intellectually stimulating environment on the Italian Riviera, near Genoa, where a diverse range of Fellows, each engaged in a different field of the arts and humanities, finds complete freedom to focus, reflect, and open up to expansive creative thinking. Through daily meals, carefully composed groups of 8-10 Fellows learn to communicate with each other beyond personal and professional boundaries, often establishing new collaborations.
Upon leaving the Study Center, the experience gained during the residency continues to enrich the work of the Fellows and their community: fostering greater appreciation for the arts and humanities, expanding knowledge and aesthetic experience, and amplifying engagement among global citizens.
